About
Hi, I'm Leonardo “Leo” Sanchez — the person behind Simplify.

Simplify Branding and Marketing is a solo marketing practice based in New Jersey and available to work with small businesses remotely — no agency, no account managers, just me working directly with owners.
I work directly with business owners who know their marketing needs attention but are not always sure what is actually holding it back. The problem may be visibility, unclear messaging, the wrong audience, weak follow-up, an inconsistent customer experience or disconnected marketing activity.
My role is to help identify the real issue, prioritize what matters most and build a practical plan around the business's goals, budget and available resources.
Who I Help
Simplify is designed primarily for:
- Owner-operated small businesses
- Local and service-based businesses
- Businesses without a full internal marketing team
- Owners who have tried marketing tactics without clear results
- Businesses that need direction before spending more on ads, content or tools
- Teams that want practical guidance they can understand and use
Many small-business owners are excellent at the service they provide but are also responsible for sales, operations, customer service, scheduling and marketing. Simplify helps reduce that confusion by turning marketing into a clear set of priorities.
The Problems I Help Solve
Marketing problems are not always caused by a lack of activity. Often there is plenty of effort, but it is aimed at the wrong thing. Common issues may include:
- Potential customers do not understand what the business provides
- The business is reaching the wrong audience
- Website visitors are not turning into inquiries
- Leads are coming in but follow-up is inconsistent
- Social media activity is not connected to a business goal
- Paid advertising is generating poor-quality leads
- The brand does not clearly communicate what makes the business different
- Reviews, referrals and customer feedback are not being used effectively
- The owner is trying too many channels without a clear strategy
- Marketing performance is not being measured meaningfully
Before adding more spend, it helps to make sure you are solving the right marketing problem.
My Approach: Strategy Before Tactics
I do not begin by assuming a business needs more posts, more advertisements or a new website. I begin by looking at the full customer journey:
- Who the business is trying to reach
- What those customers need
- How they discover the business
- What message they receive
- What helps them trust the business
- What happens after they make contact
- Why some leads convert and others do not
- How results are currently measured
Only after identifying the strongest opportunities should specific channels or tactics be recommended.
The Parthenon of Marketing
I use a framework called the Parthenon of Marketing to help business owners see marketing as one connected system rather than a collection of isolated tactics.
- Brand awareness
- Organic outreach
- Engaging with your audience
- Paid advertising
- Feedback and referrals
- Live events and partnerships
These pillars are supported by a foundation of clear goals, audience understanding, a strong value proposition, customer experience and measurement.

My Background
I have more than 10 years of experience across marketing strategy, digital content, customer journeys, omnichannel engagement, commercial operations, technology enablement and client strategy.
My experience has involved helping organizations connect strategy with practical execution. That includes understanding audiences, improving content and channel planning, supporting customer engagement, reviewing marketing processes and identifying where activity is not producing the intended outcome.
I am also completing my MBA at Penn State, which continues to strengthen how I approach strategy, innovation, customer understanding and business decision-making.
I am the author of a growing library of practical small-business marketing articles focused on strategy, visibility, customer experience and lead generation — including how to choose a marketing consultant.
Experience, Recognition and Industry Perspective
My professional background also includes work in pharmaceutical and healthcare marketing, where strategy, customer experience, content operations, omnichannel engagement and commercial execution must work together across complex organizations.
That experience influences how I work with small businesses: understand the customer, define the strategy, connect the channels and make the plan practical enough to execute.
